Confidence in braking – Innovation from Munich for Tomorrow’s Mobility

LSP Innovative Automotive Systems GmbH is a highly specialised development company based in Munich. We focus on the design and development of highly dynamic, compact brake-by-wire systems for future mobility solutions.

As one of the technological pioneers in the field of intelligent braking systems, LSP has more than 15 years of experience and an extensive patent portfolio. Our innovations are used in automated vehicles of levels 4 and 5, in motorsport, and in modern, software-defined platforms with central vehicle motion control.

“LSP showed flexibility & reliability in reaching the system targets, which makes them a recognized supplier for future projects.”

Tomislav Šimunić
Engineer Rimac

“The XBC system from LSP exceeded our expectations with remarkable improvements in braking consistency, stopping distances, and ABS response – exactly the advanced braking technology we need for next-generation vehicles.”

A Milestone

in Brake-by-Wire History

As early as 2005, LSP developed the world’s first brake-by-wire system with autonomous driving functions. Known as IBS1, this system combined brake actuation, brake force amplification, ABS/ESP, automatic emergency braking (AEB), and regenerative braking in one compact unit. Brake pressure is precisely controlled by an electrically driven piston, enabling a sensitive, safe and adaptable driving experience.

In 2010, the system was presented to leading vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, marking a milestone for software-controlled and redundant brake systems.

XBC

The Modular Platform for Future Mobility

Our modular system architecture of XBC was developed in collaboration with leading braking experts and builds on the know-how gained from decades of innovation. It is based on major technological milestones such as the introduction of ABS and ESP, as well as modern E/E architectures, and offers a flexible, future-proof platform for integration into new vehicle concepts.

The System from LSP was the best choice on the market for us to have a system that is both easy to integrate into our research vehicles as well as offers easy and fully open interfaces required for our development of new vehicle dynamics functionalities.

Since about 1.5 years we are now using this system intensively in one of our development vehicles, and the system proved to be very reliable and also fulfills all our high requirements in terms of full control over each brake independently with high accuracy and low latency.”
